1. What is ButcherBoard HD?
Butcher Board HD is manufactured from prime virgin High Density Polyethylene resin which is reflected in the superior quality of our end use product. This is not a second quality product manufactured with off spec resin. This is not material rejected by the manufacturer. We buy only prime virgin material. A thermoplastic polyethylene board that is virtually indestructible in terms of cracking, warping, chipping, peeling and resists acid corrosion.
2. Why is it important that ButcherBoard HD meet many of the Federal Regulations?
Industrial and Commercial users in food contact applications are required to use cutting boards meeting these requirements to ensure the health & safety of the general public is being cared for. The Cutting Board Factory does market ButcherBoard HD in these applications, therefore all of our boards meet government regulations whether we sell to meat packing plants, restaurants or the general public. The majority of boards found on the shelves of major retailers do not meet these requirements.
3. What are these specific government regulations?
Our ButcherBoard HD meets Food and Drug Administration requirements for food contact (FDA); United States Department of Agriculture food safety compliant (USDA); Agriculture Canada accepted.
4. What does NSF Listed mean?
NSF listed Under Standard 51 listed material. This certification, received at the expense of the manufacturer, is a very important quality and fit for use standard meeting stringent NSF criteria. The National Sanitation Foundation is an independent, not for profit organization. For over 55 years the NSF has focused on public health, safety, and the environment.
The NSF has developed national standards and provides third Party conformity standards representing the interests of the public, industry and the regulatory community.
5. What is meant by natural (white) color of ButcherBoard HD?
The prime virgin high density polyethylene resin used to manufacture Butcher Board HD is natural in color. To the human eye many people would consider the color to be white. Since no pigment is added to the resin it is considered natural (but it does look white).
6. What sizes are available?
Our standard thickness is 1/2" and width & length up through 60" x 120". We also offer custom thicknesses of 1/4" & 3/8" with sheet size up through 48" x 120" and 5/8", 3/4", & 1" up through 60" x 120".
7. Is there a minimum order?
No. Whatever your requirements are is what we will provide.
8. Are there any quantity discounts available?
Yes. Please contact us for a quote on your quantity requirements. There is a built in discount in our Product Showroom for 1/2" 48" x 48"; 48" x 60" 48" x 96"; 48" x 120"; 60" x 60"; & 60" x 120".
9. What is meant by pebble finish?
Due to the low coefficient of high density polyethylene, the pebble or textured finish found on both sides, helps to promote a non-slip surface.
10. How do you clean ButcherBoard HD?
Butcher Board HD will not absorb odors or moisture due to its molecular makeup, therefore cleaning agents and surface residue simply rinses away. The vast majority, if not all, independent / government institutions agree on washing cutting boards using a hot soapy water solution and scrubbing with a brush. If your board fits in the dishwasher, this is an even a more effective / efficient method for cleaning especially if you have a sanitizer feature equipped on the dishwasher.
You can also sanitize using a solution consisting of one teaspoon of liquid chlorine bleach in one quart of water. Can be mixed and applied with a spray applicator / bottle. Whatever method you choose, be sure to rinse thoroughly. Air dry your board or pat dry with a disposable paper towel. The key is to sanitize the surface and then not to re-introduce microorganisms / bacteria back onto the boards surface with an in use kitchen towel.
Pat dry with a paper towel and throw away, or air dry.
11. What is the difference between the Workhorse Series and the Designer Series?
Our Workhorse Series includes either square or rectangular cutting boards cut to your dimensional requirements with standard sizes offered in our Product Showroom. The Designer Series includes many custom fabricated pieces designed for specific needs with rounded edges and corners. This series includes rectangular and round cutting boards. Some include handles. We also offer "The Big One That Got Away," the Salmon board designed and detailed in the shape of a Salmon. Please refer to our Product Showroom for details.
12. Can a logo or a name be engraved in ButcherBoard HD?
Yes. We can engrave / machine a logo or name of your choice on any piece in our product showroom. A great alternative for gifts, incentives, promotions, fundraisers, advertising, etc. There is a minimum per style / size, a one time set up fee, minimal charge for the machining and the cost of the piece.
A great idea for bread boards & smorgasbord tables, carving stations, self serve areas and any other area visible to customers.

13. How can an order be placed?
An order can be placed through our secured shopping cart found in the Product Showroom. We accept most major credit cards and your order is usually processed and shipped within 24 hrs. during the normal business week. You can also call us between 9-5 est. M-F to place your order over the phone.

14. How will my order be shipped?
We can ship either UPS, FEDEX, USPS and will be determined during order entry along with the actual shipping charges. Any shipment exceeding their size and weight restrictions will be routed motor carrier collect and additional shipping charges may apply which you will be advised of prior to shipping.

17. What if I'm interested in a cutting board that I don't see offered in your Product Showroom?

18. Will ButcherBoard HD dull the blade of my cutting utensil?
Due to the molecular makeup of ButcherBoard HD, its surface gives way to the cutting action of the knife blade therefore preventing premature dulling of the blade and extends the time between sharpening.
19. Are there any money back guarantees if I am not completely satisfied?
We provide a lifetime guarantee against material defects but this does not apply to wear from normal use. We also offer a 30 day risk free guarantee. If you are unhappy with your purchase, simply return the Butcher Board HD prepaid and in unused condition within 30 days for a full refund of the price of the product, less shipping & handling. Please contact The Cutting Board Factory for a return goods authorization number prior to the return.
20. Where is the raw material manufactured?
We are very proud of the fact that our manufactured and fabricated products are all made in the USA. We do not and will never import any product line we offer as long as there is a source of raw material made in the USA or Canada.
